Ingredients
- 1 oz
- Siete Leguas Reposado Tequila
- 1⁄2 oz
- Los Nahuales Joven Mezcal
- 3⁄4 oz
- Amaro Nonino Quintessentia
- 1 dash
- Death & Co House Orange Bitters
- 1
- grapefruit twist as garnish
Stir it Up
- Stir all ingredients over ice
- Strain into Old Fashioned glass with 1 large ice cube
- Garnish with grapefruit twist
Notes & Review
Seemingly a riff on Phil Ward's Oaxaca Old-Fashioned, this subs in Amaro Nonnino for the agave syrup, making it a bit more bitter. It's also a bit more citrusy with the pungent grapefruit twist (which also pulls bitter) and orange bitters. An enjoyable cocktail but I'd prefer the Oaxaca 9 times of 10.
