Background & History

"a bit of highly herbaceous mint helps bridge the gap between seemingly mismatched aged spirits and lime juice -- a function also served by the absinthe in this recipe." - Cocktail Codex

Notes & Review

Limey, minty, peaty and sweet, with a whisper of absinthe to liven things up a touch. A very drinkable scotch cocktail, and almost identical to the Smokescreen, which just subs in Green Chartreuse instead of absinthe.

For those who like scotch, you might want to up the dosage slightly, or back off the simple syrup just a tad.

We used St. George Absinthe in place of Pernod's.
