A riff on the Pop Quiz, a Death & Co cocktail created by Devon Tarby. "Alex [Day] wanted to make a drink that tasted like boozy chocolate without coming across as dessert in a glass." - Cocktail Codex Interestingly, Alex Day created a different cocktail of the same name in 2009 that was included in Death & Co's original cocktail book. Slightly confusing...
Old-Fashioned fans will also be a fan of the Night Owl. It's both fruitier, likely due to the orange notes from the Ramazzotti, but also a bit sweeter due to the amaro but also the chocolate notes. The mouthfeel with the cacao-nib infused Ramazzotti is nice as well. We have to admit, we didn't have the pecan bitters, so swapped in a dash of Angostura and a dash of Bittermen's Mole bitters, and it did not disappoint, but is missing any nuttiness that might be found in the true spec.
