Background & History

Supposedly created when Milanese bartender Mirko Stocchetto mistakenly poured Prosecco in place of gin while trying to make a Negroni, this cocktail has stood the test of time.

Sbagliato means mistaken in Italian (given its origin story), and is pronounced roughly: sba-YAH-to or sba-LYAH-to.

Notes & Review

A dry Prosecco is appropriate for this cocktail, as is an Italian vermouth like Torino or Carpano.
