Ingredients

11⁄2 oz
Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey
1⁄4 oz
Campari
1⁄4 oz
Grand Marnier
3⁄4 oz
grapefruit juice
1⁄2 oz
lemon juice
1⁄4 oz
ginger syrup
1
orange twist as garnish

Shake it Up

  1. Shake all ingredients with ice
  2. Strain into coupe
  3. Garnish with orange twist

Notes & Review

As drinkable of a rye cocktail as they come, especially for those who may not love whiskey. Very citrus-forward but it's well balanced by the bold ingredients behind it. Campari and Grand Marnier get lost a bit but I think that's mostly because the drink comes together as something else entirely. The Rittenhouse, which, at least for me, usually dominates and even overpowers, is just a subtle note itself.
