- Rittenhouse Straight Rye Whiskey
- 1⁄4 oz
- Campari
- 1⁄4 oz
- Grand Marnier
- 3⁄4 oz
- grapefruit juice
- 1⁄2 oz
- lemon juice
- 1⁄4 oz
- ginger syrup
- 1
- orange twist as garnish
Shake it Up
- Shake all ingredients with ice
- Strain into coupe
- Garnish with orange twist
Notes & Review
As drinkable of a rye cocktail as they come, especially for those who may not love whiskey. Very citrus-forward but it's well balanced by the bold ingredients behind it.
Campari and Grand Marnier get lost a bit but I think that's mostly because the drink comes together as something else entirely. The Rittenhouse, which, at least for me, usually dominates and even overpowers, is just a subtle note itself.
