Shake it Up

1. Pull a fresh shot of espresso; optionally, let it cool if less dilution is wanted
2. Add ingredients to a shaker, and shake vigorously with ice
3. Strain into rocks glass, over large ice cubes

Background & History

A historic "cocktail" with origins likely in Spain or Cuba, this drink takes many forms, and has many recipes, depending on which country you hail from, or even which town within that country. Some only serve it hot, some serve it cold but up, some add brandy, others, rum. There are other recipes that call for lighting it afire with sugar. In any case, it's delicious espresso, with yummy booze.
