Directions
- Muddle cinnamon sticks in a saucepan until broken into small shards
- Add water and sugar and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally
- Lower the heat, cover, and gently simmer for 4 minutes
- Remove from heat and let rest overnight
- Strain through a cheesecloth-lined sieve
